22nd January 2019
LandFlight has launched a major recruitment drive after signing a five-year contract to operate several major bus routes in and around Solihull.
We’re recruiting for 20 new drivers to service a range of routes it will operate on behalf of Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) from Sunday, February 24.
We will be using eight new low-emission Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 MMC buses, each worth around £175,000, to service the routes.
The new buses meet the Euro 6 emission standards and also comply with the Solihull Advanced Quality Partnership Scheme (AQPS), a series of stringent rules which will govern bus usage in the town that come into force in January 2020.
Our director Danny Matthews said: “This is a great start to the new year for us. We’re delighted our record of delivering quality services has been recognised by TfWM in what was a tough tender process.
“We’re now looking for 20 drivers who fit with our company ethos to help us service these routes and support our growth in 2019.”
We will operate the new routes for TfWM, which is the body responsible for co-ordinating transport services in the West Midlands. It has bus franchising and highway management powers similar to those of Transport for London.
TfWM will be releasing further details on the routes over the coming weeks.
